On Tuesday, October 5, 2010 from 5 PM to 8 PM the Buffalo Maritime Center (BMC) will host its Fall Open House at its new location at 1250 Niagara Street, Buffalo, NY (one block north of Rich Products).

Wooden boat enthusiasts and anyone interested in learning more about what it takes to build a kayak, canoe or skiff are invited to attend as the BMC unveils its fall lineup of workshops that will begin late October. 

The 2010 Fall programs will include the following classes:

  • Chesapeake Light Craft Kayak
  • Canvas Covered Canoe
  • Yankee Tender
  • Optimist Pram
  • Week-End Skiff and Black Rock Skimmer

Buffalo Maritime Center Builds Replica War of 1812 Bateau

Will Be the First Bateau Seen in Buffalo in 200 Years

Volunteers at the Buffalo Maritime Center, 901 Fuhrmann Blvd., are currently in the process of building a 25-foot replica wooden bateau representative of those that would have been in use on the Niagara Frontier during the War of 1812. Fourth of July Celebration


On Sunday, July 4th, celebrate our independence with an expanded fireworks display and great local musical acts at Buffalo's Fourth of July Celebration at the Erie Canal Harbor - Central Wharf.  The event will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will include children’s activities and continuous entertainment.
