July 7, 2009

The 4th of July celebration at the Erie Canal Harbor's Central Wharf is being praised as a successful event. Buffalo Place organizers note that more families brought their extended families to this year's event, which was the second of its kind. But the Independence Day celebration is only one of many events planned along Buffalo’s Waterfront this summer. Buffalo Place say something is going to be happening along Buffalo’s Water at least five days a week for the rest of the summer. On Sunday evening, we spoke with many people who were visiting the Erie Canal Harbor for the first time since it opened last year. They were impressed with the site, and pleasantly surprised by it as well. Many say they will return to the site and they'll tell others to visit it too. Two people also say the area wouldbenefit by having eateries and more access to parking. Some people who are veterans to visiting the central wharf also brought first-time visitors with them to share the experience.
